In planning for successful implementation, we shall provide the vision for change and the expected outcomes of the change. We begin with the end in mind to gear change toward accomplishing our end objectives. We then build commitment and plan for the implementation of change, using our management systems to detail and track actions to completion. The result is a disciplined, paced change process that forms the basis for the successful implementation of our management approach.
We will build upon the excellence, especially the skilled and knowledgeable workforce, to enhance operations. Our implementation approach sets the path for accomplishment of critical work: our project controls plans includes specific activities designed to produce an incremental improvement in specific program areas.
Collectively, these activities drive efficiency and enhancement to provide–
} a greatly increased capabilities
} sustainable high-level performance
} a highly productive workforce
} significant value for money
Our approach to develop improved planning processes will be to improve the practices existent.
Through this approach we:
} Bring our successful experience together with that of the client's sites Subject Matter Experts.
} Establish positive relationships within the client's functional areas representatives that are necessary to facilitate the transfer of improved processes from the team to our Project Controls function.
We will establish a firm foundation to build on by emplacing our tailored application of project management tools in projectised organizations across the client’s site to support delivery of Earned Value Management (EVM). Our EVMS will be maintained in compliance with the APM (Association for Project Management) and the EVM Guideline for US.
We develop and maintain processes to optimize the working delivery of the project controls plan. We review and recommended adjustments to ensure flexibility and agility performance parameters originating within our project control program. Through our EVMS will analyze weekly for accurately and consistently measure our progress and form the basis for executive level decision making
We develop and maintenance of a fully capable and fit for purpose Project Controls Function Our strategy is to assess the existing Project Controls Function and compare assessment results with the lessons learned from our successful experience.
Our focus improves:
} Processes
} EVMS
} Software platform operating efficiencies
} Systems support and maintenance
} Software applications efficiencies
Our assessment and successful enhancement of the scope definition process will benefit our downstream processes.
We assess the following–
} Does the scope statement identify scope inputs, outputs, and stakeholder and customer expectations?
} Are project objectives defined in terms of safety, cost/pricing, schedule commitments, quality, operations and maintenance?
} Technical maturity
} The application of value management and other tools to optimize the project life cycle
} Alternatives identification
} Documentation of roles, responsibilities, accountabilities, and authorities
} Consideration of existing clients conditions and requirements (including acceptance criteria)
} Procurement strategies
} Approval requirements.
Our experience with true lifetime costs of facilities to assess the current estimating process and practice to improve the accuracy of estimation processes being applied We will identify inaccuracies, gaps and areas where estimate process improvement can be achieved by incorporating good practice and lessons learned.
We understand the importance of gaining and maintaining customer confidence in the schedules we deliver. Our team will maintain a steady state and carry out an independent audit and validation of the current scheduling process and practices in order to identify areas for improvement. We will evaluate the current scheduling resources and their strategic high level and day-to-day planning and scheduling approach. Our schedules shall be integrated and flexible enough to deliver the required level of detail to all parties, ensuring top down alignment of all deliverables.
We–
} Validate the existing schedules, work stream and funding profiles to ensure actual and forecast data accuracy.
} Identify inaccuracies, gaps and areas for improvement in the schedule management process and formulate new strategies for improvement.
} Assess schedule risk analysis, which is a key feature of schedule management.
